My new favorite band! I don’t have cable tv. It’s to distracting, so I cruise the internet for entertaining obscure videos. I came across this awesome group out of Sweeden! Apparently, Basic Element has been around for a very long time. They’re actually getting pretty good. Some of their old stuff though… INCRIMINATING!! My roomate and I best described it as a broke version of Ace of Base and La Bouche. I think I may bring you gems like these weekly. Hopefully daily. Its just to good to not share with you guys. Cheap and Cheerful…this usually describes me on a friday night, but now its a saucy remix thanks to The Bloody Beetroots. Just when I start to think I might get tired of the Bloody Beetroots, they put out some incredible remix and/or original that stunns me. The Kills went from sounding like a UK garage band to some wicked, ecclesiastic dance hymn.

So I stumbled upon this on Beatport today. Sadly there was a territory restriction on the release. So I looked else where. This remix just shows how sick and diversified of a producer Kissy can be. My DJ partner hooked me up with this nasty, out of this world synthed out track by the always forward thinking Alter Ego. It’s called Gary, and its just layers of compressed synthesizers over a nice tasty beat. This one isn’t for your typical indie electro banger sets. But that shouldn’t matter cause it’s pure rawness!

Then to continue on with the synth madness we got a new remix by one of my favorite French producers, Fred Falke. It’s a track called Golden Cage by The Whitest Boy Alive. Its fantastic dreamy 80’s trance-house that only Fred Falke could do. With a vocal that reminds me of a cold play track, watch out for this one as i wouldn’t be surprised to see everyone from Daft to Tiesto rocking this track.

Cats out of the bag, I have a major guilty pleasure. House music and the most mainstream/pop kind possible. I especially love house music that samples the shit out of 90’s and 80’s dance/funk/R&B and Soul. Armand does it beautifully. When I first heard his first record, I was actually turned off. I didnt like it at all. It was almost like Mindless Self indulgence meets Trance. Anyway, I put his record away and never gave him a second thought. Not until I kept hearing these awesome remixes coming from some of my favorite dj’s did I pick up another AVH record. The originals are just as good if not better than the remixes. I know that his most recent record came out in like 2006/2007 and I’m a little late on the write up, buuut I was listening to it while studying for my last final ever!! (thats right I graduate this coming friday) and I just couldnt help myself. I needed to profess my inner teeny bopper for him on here. Its true, I’m almost at teeny bopper status. Yikes.
