collect coin

i dont collect coins but have a pretty old one in my possesion? i have a 1844 1/4 r denomination coin from the dominican republic i cant find anything on it. The earliest coin of that type i have found online is from the 1870's anyone have an appraisal for me. Noone here can give you an appraisal without actually seeing the coin. You can seek out some coin appraisal sites online (search "online coin appraisal", "rare coins", etc). ...or visit a coin collecting shop. In general though, coins that are in mint condition have the most value. Considering how old the coin is I would think it would still be worth something if in good condition.
